Sale Stuff

For this week…

  • Frontier’s “we call it a penny but it’s really $14” sale is here,

  • Another aggravatingly attractive deal from Delta is available (premium cabin to Europe),
  • And, of course, there’s one ever-present airline sitting in the corner. Yawning. On the couch in the middle of a party. I’m speaking of the legendary barrel of laughs and luxury known as Southwest Airlines.

Card Updates

A few mid-month increased bonuses…

  • The Southwest personal (Plus/Priority, Premier) and Business) cards are all up to 60,000. Again, it’s a perfect time to get working on a Companion Pass…for those of you who can get those cards.
  • The 65,000-mile link for United should be working for everyone now.  But, yeah, it’s still Chase. Approval just ain’t happening for those of us who apply for lots of cards.
  • Capital One Venture is up to 75,000 miles. Plus 2 Capital One Spark Business card increases are available for big spenders:
    • Cash – $500 back for spending $5,000. And $1,500 more if you spend $50,000.
    • Miles – 50,000 miles for spending $5,000. And 150,000 more if you spend $50,000.

American Domestic Awards

SkyDongs were a joke and now we see a new use for them every week.

American Airlines miles were comedically hard to redeem…

…and now we have new possibilities there too.

Weird.

At this rate, we’ll be exchanging VHS tapes for diamonds.

Belly button lint will be an acceptable trade-in for new cars.

Yeah, that was gross.

The point is…it’s a strange and unpredictable time for devalued currencies.

I’m hoping we’ll get a proper landing page for the new American award deals.

We’ll see.

Red Cross

I know of some readers who had to evacuate their homes because of the recent fires. Pretty good chance there were more of you that I don’t know about. Can’t say I know for sure who’s where or what’s been lost at this point. But I do know some of you have been hit by this in a big way. I’m very sorry if that’s your current reality. For anyone interested in helping, donations to the Red Cross will earn 10 American miles per dollar through December 10th.

End Of Week

  • Nerds With Inks can head to Staples again. Sunday to Saturday for their popular no-fee $200 Visa gift cards. In-store only. Easy points.
  • Westgate is giving away some vacations to military families. Nice gesture.
  • This one from American Airlines is a poor man’s US Airways Grand Slam promo. A very poor man’s Grand Slam. Like playing with Montell Jordan instead of Michael Jordan.
