US Airways Is A Giver

What does this 100% bonus for sharing miles mean? It means that for the next couple of weeks, you can “share” miles with a friend and US Airways will double those miles. Translation – It’s a way for slick people to buy 50,000 miles for $567.50.

If you have family and friends interested, form a nice little circle and all take advantage. I’m a fan, as this is one of the cheaper ways of buying miles. It hasn’t come around for a year. Another fun promo (Fall Kickoff) popped up from US Airways, but the sharing is what got my attention.

United Business Card

As always, huge thanks to the readers who send me deal links and tips. I know this might come as a shock but I do occasionally miss things. Insert dramatic pause here. Over the weekend, reader Brad sent me to post 360 of a Flyertalk thread. It’s a great way to get the Business version of the 50,000-mile United card.

20,000 Easy Miles

I got an email from Etihad Airlines with 3 steps to earn 20,000 miles.

  1. Sign up for BusinessConnect
  2. Connect Etihad Guest number and one other business traveler’s number through the website.
  3. Email Etihad Guest number and company name to businessconnectoffer@etihad.ae
That’s it. 10,000 miles in both business and personal accounts. Easiest 20,000 miles in a while!

Midweek Stuff

  • The Hotels.com mystery coupon on Facebook is back
  • Feeling generous? Donate $25 to St. Jude and get 20% off an Expedia hotel stay (which could easily be worth a lot more than $25).
  • Also get up to 5,000 Delta miles for donating to the United Way
  • In the latest “I was wrong” chronicles, let’s go back to a couple weeks ago. I kind of poo poo’d the 25% bonus promotion from hotel points to British Airways.Well, I’ve had multiple people email to poo poo me. I get it. Transferring 20,000 Starwood points normally becomes 25,000 to British account. With the promo, that number increases to 31,250. So, transferring 40,000 from Starwood gives you a solid 62,500 British points. Yeah, it’s a pretty decent return. MileNerd gets the poo poo and  sheds a single tear on this one.
