This one isn’t even close. It’s the Starwood American Express. So many people are loaded with airline miles, but are short on hotel points. The Starwood Cash + Points option is a great way to book hotels. For example, I find hotels in the $150 range and book them for $30 + 1,600 points. If you don’t have this card yet, email me and I’ll send you a referral link for the application.

250 Free Hertz Points
I used Hertz for a car rental today, and within minutes, I got an offer of 250 points for subscribing to their emails. A free rental day is 500 points, so this is a solid deal. Get your 250 points by doing the following:
- Log into www.hertz.com
- Go to “My Account,” then “My Profile/Membership Details,” and click Edit.
- Under “Privacy Elections,” select “Postal and E-mail” or “E-mail only.”
- Click Save.
- Do this by April 30 and continue receiving emails through June 30.
Hyatt Platinum Status
If you have a credit card that says Visa Signature on it, just go here and you’ll get 90 days of Hyatt Platinum status. It’s always helpful to have status for things like room upgrades, free internet, and late checkout.
Bank of America Debit Cards
Just got notice that my Bank of America US Airways debit card is being discontinued. If you’re a Bank of America customer who wants a mileage debit card, this pretty much limits you to the Alaska Airlines option. It offers 3,000 miles after your first purchase, and 1 mile for every $2 spent. Obviously it’s nothing like the credit card bonuses, but it’s not bad for a debit card.
